Joesph Ssemakula Katta
Joseph aged 13 says:
I left the village when our parents passed away. I came straight to the streets of Kampala streets and slept there. I used to eat from the garbage bins and it was really hard. We used to fight a lot on the streets and I will never forget when one of the street boy died when fighting. The same pit were Condoms were thrown is the same pit we used to feed from, life was tough at first but I got used to it each day. Always I had time to play football on the streets and one day, Daniel organized a soccer gala at Kitebi primary school. I went there and he preached to us before the tournament and after but my interest was football, so after the gala he asked some of who wants to go with him and I said yes because I had seen my younger brother in his team, so he took me to the orphanage.”
“I am leading a good life with no struggle anymore, am staying on a bed, eat 3 times a day, I have reunited with my brother. I am at school where I am the champion in 5000m and 200m. I am in the school soccer team. I am treated like a son by Daniel and I love the Lord, because we are praying at the home every day. It was exciting when got the clothes and soccer boots from UK. I like playing tennis too.

Mark Sekisambu
Mark Sekisambu aged 10 says
My mum passed away when I was 5 years old. My dad passed away in 2007, both died of HIV Aids. My mother and father went to the same school with “Daddy” Daniel, and my father played football with him at school and on club level. They had me when there were both students. I never lived with both of them, I have moved from place to place which has affected my life. I was living with my Grandmum when Daniel found me, she has struggled with me too much.
Life has come back to me after I found a man with the heart of a father. He encourages me every day, I am enjoying tennis, I don’t think I will play football like my father did. We are mixing well with everybody in the orphanage, I can watch tv and play different games, I can study at night as we have power in the home, I am sleeping and eating good.

Deo Kalule
Deo Kalule age 11 says:
My mother died when she was giving birth to me, and my father died later when I was five years old. I used to stay with my grandmother who sold fried cassava for survival. I was taken to school but later I was sent away because of school fees and I dropped out when I was 9 years old. One day when I was playing football in the village I was introduced to Coach Daniel who promised to take me somewhere I could play football, go to school and stay.
I came to KSEM orphanage and I was taken to school, I sleep very well because I have my own bed, I watch television every day, have meals 3 times a day and I enjoy a number of sports at the orphanage. We have nice clothes now and go to church every Sunday.

Emmanuel Kato
Emmanuel Kato age 16 says:
My father died before I was born and my mother also died when I was 7 years old. Being the third born in our family, my eldest sister took me to my uncle’s home. My uncle also had a lot of children in his care and could not afford for my school fees and he was sometimes rude to me. Sometimes I went to bed without supper and even when I was sick he did not pay any attention to me. I used to treat myself with natural herbs which my mother had taught me to use before she died. My cousins used to beat me especially the eldest and made me wash their clothes.
I planned to escape from this suffering and I prayed to god to rescue me. A few days later I learnt about KSE Orphanage where I went and they listened to me and helped me.
Kagimu's other brothers are Abdul Sekitto and Abdul Ssebunya

Manfred Sebuwuufu
Manfred Sebuwuufu age 11 says:
I used to live with both my parents until my father died due to a mysterious disease. Some people say he was be-witched by our neighbour who had a shrine. I was 5 years old when he died. After the burial in Butambala, my mother could not afford my school fees and the headmistress sent me away from school when I was in Primary 4. My mother later got a job as a market vendor from which she paid my school fees.
After sometime I was taken to KSEM orphanage by coach Daniel and ever since then my life has changed. Today am back in school and now am in Primary 6. At the orphanage I was given clothes, shoes and a good bed. We watch television and I also eat well. I like playing tennis since Denise showed us how to do it
