Martin

Martin born in 1996 says:

My father died as a result of land wrangles, his young brother killed him with a stick. My mum told me the story as I was young, there were 5 of us and my mother couldn’t afford to take care of us, my mum took me to another village to stay with my uncle, sleeping and eating was really poor. I came to KSEM when the coach of KSEM U12 team visited our village. I was playing football and he talked to me and I took him to my uncle who told him my problems, so I was introduced to the house. I can eat and sleep well, I get an education. I am playing football and other sports in the home. TV is available and am going to church and we are praying every day

Moses

Moses born 1997
I am 12 years old. I lost my Mother and Dad of Aids when I was 10years old, I stayed with my elder Brother who couldn’t afford to look after me and my other brother Joseph. Life in the village was really hard as the only jobs available was digging and fetching water to earn a living. So we started missing school and later I dropped out. One day when we were playing football a friend came out with the idea that we should leave the village and go to town we can find good life there. My elder Brother Joseph had left already so I had no option. So I organize money and took a bus to Kampala with my friend. We went to the stadium from the bus to watch a big game. Inside the stadium I got lost so I stayed back and slept at the bus station, good enough I had some small money on me. So I looked for the place where kids play soccer and I got one, after playing I introduced myself to a man who liked me and took me to his restaurant where I eat and started washing dishes and I could sleep in there. On the field KSE organized the soccer gala, that’s where I met Daniel and I gave him my story he took me that very day to the orphanage.” “His life has changed so fast, he is back in School, playing football, watching Tv, going to church. He no longer has to go the hard way to eat. And he is loved.” Says Daniel

I lost my father when I was younger so I grew up with a single Mum - we are 7 in the family. My mother works so hard and can’t meet all our needs, we used to sleep on logs, and education has been a problem for me, feeding and clothes. We were introduced to KSEM by the chairman of the Local Council who is a friend to Mr. Mujabi Robert, a staff member at KSEM. When he looked into our problems he approved me to stay at the orphanage. I am living a comfortable life, food clothes, education, beddings is no longer a problem. I have learn to appreciate life, I have made a lot of friends, I have enough time to pray, play and to study. Prayer as helped me grow spiritually and my faith in God is changed due to the counsel l will receive from KSEM.
